Coin Operated Amusement Games

In the summer months, the Jersey Shore comes alive with visitor's from all over the area. Many come for the beautiful shorelines, others to visit the Arcades on our many boardwalks.

Which ever boardwalk you walk along, it is very likely you will find a vintage coin operated amusement game that I have either repaired to restored.

Below are a few recent restoration projects:

The Original Bimbo Three Ring Circus, United Billiards Inc, 1981, a copy of Williams Peppy the Clown (1956), designed for kids, Bimbo the clown talked and sang, moving his head from side to side, player could press buttons on the front console which controlled Bimbo 3 Ring Circus' arm and leg movement.

In the summer of 2010, I had the pleasure of locating and restoring an original BIMBO the clown.

The most significant challenge was replacing the 8 TRACK TAPE PLAYER of the seventies to a CD player of today. After locating a copy of all eight songs in MP3 format, I was able to convert the game to the use of a CD player.

You can visit FUN CITY USA in Keansburg NJ to enjoy this vintage amusement game with your Grand Children, just as your Parents did with you.

You can also listen to all eight songs here; "Just push my buttons down and sing along"!

Show here is the playfield and back glass of Slick Chick. Manufactured by Gottlieb of Chicago Illinois in 1963.

I was successful on ebay and purchased this game in 2008. Needing only minor repairs, I have place this game into operation on the Jersey Shore at FUN CITY USA

Here is a electro mechanical game produced by Irving Kay in the late sixties. It is a reproduction of the Bat 'em out, Boys created by Scientific Machine Corporation out of NY in the late 50's. I have had the pleasure of repairing both of these games during my career as a mechanic on the Jersey Shore during High School and College.

The game shown here is operational at FUN CITY USA in Keansburg NJ and can be played by young and old.
