It is no secret to my friends and family of my interests in
boats, jet skis, and water sports on the Jersey Shore. I
was born and raised on the Jersey Shore and boast of being a
"Claim Digger"! My most recent engine repair project is that
of a full rebuild of a 1999 Mercruiser 5.0L (Chevy 305 block)

Getting Started - Remove the engine from the vessel. |
Remove the engine components - Power Steering, Water
Pump, Heads, Harmonic Balancer, Carburetor, Pulleys,
belts, oil pan, push rods, etc. |

Ouch, Engine Test failed as Starter was damaged when the
engine Hydro Locked. Need to rebuild the starter as the
Outer Ring of the Planetary Gears was striped. May as
well change brushes, bearings, and gaskets. |
